Lily is not being selfish to want a child it is the most natural thing that a woman can desire. She wants a baby and I say dammit let her have one. Lily is not stupid she know's what a baby is. Lily has endured more in her life, than someone 3 times her age. And call me stupid but I believe in the power of faith and what Colleen came to tell her in her dream. Yes kids should have two parents but that doesn't always happen. At any given moment something could happen to cause a child to lose a parent. I know from personal experience. So that argument doesn't wash with me. If a child is born into the world that is not by accident, it is because it is meant to be. Get over it and stop trying to block Lily and Cane from having their baby (lol). I think I'll start a post on Baby Ashby names

Frankly i do not care what happen with Mac,Billy or anyone involve,just give me my Winter Ashby,just to see my Lily smile |
But I do love all of these threads about my fav character though it shows me you all care.Thanks charme I will be posting my Winter ashby baby name soon.

Lily can't even take care of herself, so how is she going to take care of a baby. It's no different than wanting a baby if you aren't financially able to take care of it. Yes in theory, love is most important, but a baby needs formulas, diapers, and tons of other things that cost money. People have no business "purposely" bringing kids into the world until they are able to properly care for the child, both physically, and financially. And to me, people who choose to do so, simply becacuse of what they "want", are selfish. Because, it's whats best for the child. And right now, Lily is simply not physically able to take care of anyone. Now of course, if she accidentally got pregnant, that's a different story. But to bring a child into this environment, which a man, she's only been back with a hot second, by the way, is extremely unwise. Well I more than disagree with what you say. You know that more than anybody Lily and Cane deserve to have a baby. And you know that that baby will be taken care of and I don't mean by Mac. Lily tried her hardest to have a baby before the cancer, so this isn't something new to her. Unfortunately the option has been taken from her to have it in the traditional manner. Thank goodness she has the surrogacy option, that she has chosen. Like I said it's nothing selfish about wanting a child, it's a natural instinct. |

I understand that she needs hope. But she has a gorgeous Aussie lying next to her every night. If that's not enough to motivate you to fight for your life, then I don't know what will. Girl you ain't never told the truth like you telling it today. Cane is enough motivate any woman dead or alive. LOL Now let us get serious. If you will look at it from Lily's perspective she believes what Colleen told her. That she one day would have a baby and she would live. I do not think Lily would even be thinking about a baby if she did not believe she would live. The promise in the dream was two fold. Life and a baby. Do you really think that she would be asking Mac to carry a baby for Cane and her if Colleen had said she would see her child born but soon after die. She would not saddle Cane with that kind of responsibility along with the grief of her dying. I notice everyone else but Lily is secretly saying what if she dies? Including Mac,Neal and Cane. But since Lily has brought up this baby she has not said she thinks she is going to die once. This girl truly believes she will live to raise her own child. And because she believes this she cannot be thinking selfishly. Selfish thinking would be for her to know she will die and leave her child motherless. Yes she has that fine Aussie, but the Aussie is just for Lily I also think that Lily wants to give him what she knows he wants but doesn't know it yet. He has taken such good care of her waited on her hand and foot. Taken her verbal abuse, her suspicion and her rejection. But stayed and loved her through it all. All the while wearing his wedding ring even though she stopped wearing hers. She wants to express her love for him in the same way he has expressed his for her. There is no greater expression of love then the gift of a child. And Lily will be there to see joy on his face when that gift is unwrapped 9months from now. btw before everyone gets in an uproar over Lily believing that CC came to her in a dream. Many on the board believed Cassie's dream would come true for years even after Nick and Sharon split and low and behold little Faith is proof that dreams do come true. |

I agree she is being selfish to want a baby right now yes something can happen at any time to take a parent away but they don't know its coming lily knows its a possibility she could die and is not worried about her child. |

I think she is right in wanting a baby. I don't think it is selfish. How many women, know their husbands are dying and freeze their sperm in case they die so they can have their child later? if Lilly were to die, why cant Cane take care of it? Wouldn't Neil want a grand daughter, a part of Lilly? If I knew my husband was dying you can bet I would want to have his baby before he died so I would always have a part of him in my life. Lilly will have enough help around her to make sure this child has enough attention. Hell her dad cant stay away from her now. I am a believer of Colleen's visit too, I know she will get through this. |

Okay, in the real world I agree that Lily should wait before having a baby but in soap land where she will recover next year I say go for it. She and Cane have wanted this for so long. Money is not a problem and neither is someone to care for the baby. Let's face it in the real world most women don't have a Cane to take care of them. And most of us don't have wealthy relatives who will step in if we need it adoptive or otherwise. Baby name if a girl Collen McKenzie Ashby |
