Guiding Lights fans cooking...

Hi ya all! I know none of us are ready for the 9-18-09 to come. If some of you are like me, anxiety about it is growing. For me, cooking helps and of course, all the GL fans. I thought it would be fun to have a Guiding Light/Springfield Cookbook. Everyone add a fairly short recipes named for a character on the show. You can have more than one character and they can from the past as well as present. I was thinking this would be fun to share and something we could all copy on our own and have a little memory of not just a show we love, but knowing what friends we made. Maybe sound silly or corny, but that’s me!!

Cyrus's Sticky Buns
(named for his sticky fingers and *ahem* his buns!)

18 frozen dinner rolls
4T dry butterscotch pudding (not instant)
1/2 c melted butter
2 T cinnamom
1/2 c brown sugar
chopped nuts

Place frozen buns in buttered bundt pan. Sprinkle 4T pudding mix on buns. Mix melted butter, cinnamom, brown sugar and nuts and pour over rolls. Cover with foil and let sit overnight. Do not refrigerate. In the morning bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Invert onto plate.

Actually as easy as they are, they are pretty good!

Cassie's Pecan Tassies(These are half related to a Pecan Pie)

2 cups margarine
4 (3 ounce) packages cream cheese
4 cups all-purpose flour
3 eggs
2 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2.In a medium bowl, mix together the margarine and cream cheese until well blended. Beat in flour, 1 cup at a time, until the mixture forms a smooth dough. Roll into small balls, and press into the bottoms and sides of tart pans or mini muffin pans.
3.In another bowl, mix together the eggs, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir in the pecans. Use a spoon to fill each of the crusts 2/3 full with the filling mixture.
4.Bake for 15 to 18 minutes in the preheated oven, until shell is light brown, and the filling has puffed up. Cool, and carefully remove from pans.
