Since so many people like to talk about dollars and cents and savings---well, guess what?

SHOCK: House health care bill saves $260,000 per word!

Right-wing media have run with the Politico's Jonathan Allen misleading calculation that the House's recently announced health care reform legislation costs "about $2.24 million per word." In fact, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimated that the America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 "would result in a net reduction in federal budget deficits of $104 billion"; therefore, using Allen's formula, the bill would actually save $260,000 per word.

Hmmmm...seems like we may now know why good ole crooked Joe Lieberman is refusing to vote for a public option:

(Glenn Greenwald): "I think clearly what it’s about is primarily that fact that the industry that he’s serving by doing this—by preventing competition with the public option—is an industry from which he receives very substantial benefits. He’s drowning in campaign contributions from the insurance industry, the health care industry, the pharmaceutical industry—more than $2.5 million.

In early 2005 his wife was hired by a large P.R. firm, Hill & Knowlton, in the pharmaceutical division, which at the time was representing the health care giant Glaxo in major legislation before the Senate. And several months later Joe Lieberman was on the floor of the Senate offering legislation that would directly steer huge amounts of incentives to that company in order to develop vaccines.

So I think what you’re seeing here is the kind of legalized corruption, legalized bribery that runs the United States Senate; only in this case it’s particularly sleazy and transparent because Lieberman is ready to gut the major initiative of the Democratic Party."

Here is the interview Glenn Greenwald did on TRMS:

So...Lieberman and Bayh are against voting for the public option so they can protect their own financial interests? Really--say it isn't so?

I second the caution about leaving your email address for long periods of time, however, what's more important is to never reveal personal information in your comments, ie. phone numbers, addresses or locations. This is information where lurkers and pfshers really become a problem. Leaving an email addy for a short period of time shouldn't be such a problem, because most who are likey see it are other regular posters, and we can usually trust that they are not going to be a problem to you.

PS - it's also a good idea to delete previous email addresses when forwarding emails - long lists of addresses also fall into the wrong hands and can be a problem. I try to do this at all times, but sometimes, not always, if you delete the original sender's address, it may also delete the original content.

that is one of the few things i know how to do, copy the message, go to compose, hit paste in the body, send it back to yourself and blind copy everyone else you are sending it to, or hit forward, highlight who sent it to you, hit delete, then send

I do that too, cats, but if the email contains images, at least it's been my experience that sometimes, the copy/paste method on images will not transmit to the new recipient, but often it will.

Well...pull out those 'Country First' or God first signs...weren't those interchangeable meanings last year to the party of 'Family Values.'

What the heck is in the South Carolinian waters when it comes to Republican politicians?

Assistant Attorney General Roland Corning (66 YEARS OLD) and a 18-year-old stripper he knows from the 'Platinum Gentleman's Club' were found by police in a cemetery with sex toys and Viagra! This of course, while on his lunch break!

Cemetery....

Viagra....

Bag of sex toys....

Is this a joke? SAY WHAT!

Well--I see where some of those hard earned government run healthcare medicines are being put to use!

YUCK! What a creepy, nasty dude!
