As the World Turns - MESSAGE BOARDS

Although drama is the name of the game when it comes to soaps it is rare that the writers create a character that is light-hearted, fun, and has the ability to be quirky without being anoying. Brad's character did that and his story lines always gave a break away from all of the heavy drama. I don't know what the issues were and if it was Austin Peck's decision to leave the show there there isn't much you can do about that, but if it was their choice to let him go, well then all I can say is--bad move As The World Turns, you definately got this one wrong. The show will be different but not in a good way. Like a good book, we invest our time into these characters and it gets old NEVER seeing a happily ever after couple make it. To the ones that thought it would be a good idea to let Brad go, if you want to keep the many many fans that are dropping off because of a bad decision on your part, remember it's just TV, you could find a way to bring him back if you wanted to keep us watching.

I think that when you get hired for a soap they put into your contract " don't buy any green bananas " because you just don't know.

:( can anyone tell me why they fired Brad from the show? I had no idea, until he died. I am extremley dissapointed they killed him off. It will not be the same without him. He has a great personality, and I will truly miss seeing him on the show. I think they made a horrible mistake firing him. He is a great actor. We love you Austin Peck!

KatJourd....I definitely agree with your description of Brad's character. I feel like it's a loss for the show as well. It's disappointing. According to the rumors, he was let go because him and the actress who plays Katie had an affair in real life (and are/were both married)...this caused problems with the rest of the actors/actresses. I also heard some had difficulty working with AP. Now sure if there is any truth to it or not. I think Brad will be missed and I'm enjoying the scenes with him as a ghost.

Please just let Brad be in a coma and dreaming all of this to wake up to Katie holding there son. It is TV you can make it work. I know some shows are killing off people right and left and bringing them back as ghost but ATWT is bring all of GH's people over what is up with that? Just Bring Brad back and I will watch again.. Thank you

ATWT will be just fine without Brad, they survived when Betsy left the show, they survived when Hal died, they survived when Gwen & Will left the show, they survived when the original Lily left the show and they will survive Brad leaving. As soon as the next "Brad like character" comes rolling into town Austin Peck will be just a distant memory.
Maybe on his next set he'll show a little more discretion because I think that is what cost the actor his job.

if it cost him his job then she should have lost her job to. I am sure that ATWT will still Turn without him but for his fans such as myself will miss his sense of humor on the show. Last time I heard takes two to tango..I will never be ok with this being one sided. Just as the world will turn without Brad it would also turn with Katie..They should have let them both go..he didn't do this on their own.

Ah, it would be nice to have an opinion without being attacked by the same poster over and over and over. Okay, you made your point you didn't like the Brad character, some of us did. I've read the Brad threads and it's the same poster attacking the positive posts. Everyone has a right to like the character of their choosing without feeling attacked. I use the word attack because it's intentional; it only occurs in the "Brad" threads. Great thread Katjourd!

killed himself, frankly im glad brad is gone i was never a brad fan to began with he was annoying and the soap will be better off without him and i could careless im am glad he is gone and the soap needs to move on now,
